Save the Date: Kapu‘uola Hula Festival - June 21-22

The 2019 Kapu’uola Hula Festival will be held on Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Pu’uokapolei. The Pu‘uokapolei hula mound is located inside Kapolei Regional Park near the skate park. Access is via Ft. Barrette Rd.

The festival will feature performances by several hālau hula (hula schools) and music entertainment by Josh Tatofi and Nā Palapalai. For those who enjoy shopping and eating, local crafters, food booths and a silent auction will run throughout the event. The event is free and open to the public.

Rich has been working in the financial planning business for the last twenty-five years. He has qualified for The Million Round Table (MRT) “Top of The Table” and served on the Board for NAIFA (National Assc of Insurance and Financial Advisors). Rich is married (Tiare) and has 6 children and 5 grandchildren. Rich is actively involved at his local Church and he and Tiare serve as the Kaneohe Stake JustServe Directors. Rich loves to Golf, Fish and Hike. He loves the outdoors and loves high adventure activities with his wife Tiare and family. Rich’s practice is focused on Business Owners and helping individual and families be prepared for retirement, investments, life insurance, wills/trusts, college planning and estate transfers.

Free Event

This fair is a free event that will feature educational resources for Native Hawaiian ‘ohana - and will focus on opportunities in ʻEwa and Kapolei. Resources will include - Early Learning/Preschool supports, Out of School Time programs, and scholarships for Pre-K, K-12, and College/Certification.

The fair will also include one-stop shop kōkua to support the completion of applications for Kamehameha Schools Hoʻoulu Hawaiian Data Center, summer/campus program applications, scholarships, and financial aid.

INPEACE, PATCH, Keiki O Ka ‘Āina, UH West Oʻahu, Alu Like, Ulu Aʻe Learning Center and more.

IPA Open House

Island Pacific Academy (IPA) is an independent, non-profit, college preparatory, K-12 school. IPA will host an open house and will share unique scholarship opportunities for Native Hawaiian families.

Health Screenings

Leadership in Disabilities & Achievement of Hawaii (LDAH) will be providing FREE developmental, hearing and vision screenings for young learners in their mobile screening bus.

If you would like kōkua with completing Kamehameha Schools applications, please be sure to bring the following required documents:

  • 2017 Filed and Signed Federal Income Tax Returns

  • All Schedules filed with 2017 Federal Income Tax Return

  • All Employer-issued W2 statements and 1099’s

  • Original Birth Certificates to verify Hawaiian ancestry

  • Custody Agreements

The 2018 Kapu‘uola Hula Festival will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Pu‘uokapolei hula mound from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.  The Pu‘uokapolei hula mound is located inside Kapolei Regional Park near the skate park.  The parent organization of the Kapolei Heritage Center, the Kapolei Community Development Corporation, is a proud sponsor of this annual event.  Our community partner, the Ulu A‘e Learning Center, is hosting this festival.  For more information, please visit uluae.org.

Join lei maker and Hawaiian musician, Kuana Torres Kahele, for this 2nd workshop in our lei making series. Participants will learn the wili style of lei making. All materials and supplies will be provided and each participant will receive Kuana's Lei Making DVD or a CD of choice.  Hosted by the Ulu A‘e Learning Center.
